Middle School Courses
The Middle School Early College Academy will launch in the Fall of 2019. Sixth grade students will take the course as part of their elective wheel. Our 7th and 8th grade students will be selected through an application and interview process. We are looking for middle school cohort classes of 25 per grade level. The Middle School cohorts will utilize the Advancement via Individual Determination (AVID) curriculum to develop strong skills in WICOR: Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading. These skills will prepare students to engage in 30 credits of college coursework when they arrive at Agoura and Calabasas High Schools. More information about WICOR, as well as research about the AVID program can be found below. In the 8th grade year, students will take two college classes during their AVID period. This will give our ECA students their first college credits before entering high school.
